We  have been the hosts of Swing Dance Wednesdays Night Twin Cities every week since 2004 when our good friend Greg Huff, of Lazy Ike and the Daredevils, and the Busted Down decided it was time to bring back swing dancing on Wednesdays to Minneapolis’ iconic venue Lee’s Liquor Lounge. Since then we have started the night with a dance lesson followed by live music from a rotating cast of local (and sometimes touring) bands.

In May of 2019 with the closing of Lee's Liquor Lounge we moved our Swing Dance Wednesday Nights to the Richfield American Legion.

Music runs from traditional jazz, jump, blues, big band swing, rockabilly, honky-tonk, western swing and more.
Among the regular bands in the weekly rotation are (alphabetical order): The Bad Companions, The Dieselfitters, Honky-Tonk Jump, Miss Myra and the Moonshiners, The Modern Sovrans, The Riverside Quartet, The Riverside Rockets and The Riverside Swing Band, the Southside Aces, and Vic Volare and more.

Over the years, we have welcomed bands including:
Big Sandy and His Fly Rite Boys, Deke Dickerson, The Ranch Girls, The Mezcal Brothers, Lazy Ike and the Daredevils, Davina and the Vagabonds, Stockcar Named Desire, M.O.R.T, Johnny Boyd, Patty and The Buttons, Grand Marquis, JP Cyr and the Midnightmen, Rosie and the Rivets, Twistin’ Tarantulas and so many more. (feel free to post to the group some of the bands I haven’t mentioned).

We are grateful to have such a friendly, welcoming group of music lovers and dancers that spend their Wednesday night with us. If you are reading this, we hope you will join us, if not this week, perhaps the next.

We thank you for your support over the years. We hope to continue providing great nights of music and dancing for many years to come.
